Energy Never Dies

For my 27th Birthday Robbie surprised me with tickets to see Black Eyed Peas in Vegas! To some this might not be the best experience... in fact it might even be painful, but for me... I was beyond excited! You have to understand. Not only do I have every one of their albums I was a fan in the "pre-Fergi" days... as I listened to "Joints and Jams" with my brother. This was going to be the third time I have seen them live, so I was stoked to experience it in Vegas. When they made their comeback I was thrilled! I didn't know what I thought of Fergi, but with time I can say I am a fan!Keep in mind, I know the entire E.N.D (the energy never dies) album by heart. I memorized it when we went to Cancun in June... yes Robbie and I picked up the album at midnight the night before we left!

December 29th we drove to Vegas and quickly got ready for the show. We had a delicious meal at Lupo (a Wolfgang Puck Restaurant in Mandalay Bay) that I would highly recommend! Then we headed in. Robbie and I both had high expectations for people watching... but we didn't expect BEP to draw such a diverse crowd. We had a great time seeing the hundreds of kids and parents, older crowd (in their 50's) to name a few. The family in front of us were the highlight. The entire family (parents in their 50's, kids in their 20's) knew EVERY word and rocked out the entire 2.5 hour show!

Our seats were great... I was able to take in everything and if you want a play by play, I remember costumes, dance moves and lighting effects for almost every song! Highlights? Fergi doing two front handsprings (one handed, in heels while singing! Not even Mariah Carey can pull that off!); will.i.am's 5 minute free style; will.i.am turning the arena into a "club" and spinning the turn table for NO LIE 20 minutes! (He played everything from Guns and Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Jackson, Nirvana, etc. It might sound odd, but Robbie even said that was the best part!); alp.de.ap (he's the one with the mohawk) break dancing; seeing how RIPPED Fergi's legs are; watching the family in front of us sing all the words to "Where is the Love?" while making mini heart signs with their hands; dancing to confetti while singing "Tonight's the night... let's live it up!"

check out those legs... she is ripped!

Robbie was such a good sport... he didn't complain and even seemed like he was enjoying himself. If you ask him... he might not admit it, but it will be a night I will never forget! Don't be fooled... I am sure Robbie was happy to make the trip because the next morning he was able to do a little of this...
